The Dasein Festival explores what it means to exist as a layered and evolving being in a world increasingly shaped and transformed by artificial intelligence. Rooted in the idea of Dasein as the being that encounters its own presence, its limits, and its deep entanglement with the world, the festival invites films that challenge perception, unsettle assumptions, and expand our understanding of experience.

At the center of our vision is the Trans Layer Consciousness Axis, a way of seeing humans not as the apex of creation but as mid level beings situated within a chain of creators and creations. Each layer perceives only a fraction of the one above and below, and this mutual blindness produces the tensions, mysteries, and possibilities of our time. We seek films that explore this axis directly, whether through philosophical inquiry, narrative experimentation, or aesthetic innovation.

Our mission is to celebrate works that move beyond simple depictions of technology and reach toward new forms of consciousness, intimacy, and connection. We honor filmmakers who explore the shifting frontier where carbon meets code, where presence transforms into pattern, and where the future of being quietly begins to unfold.
